Ferguson 'Never Doubted' Berbatov's Outstanding Qualities

Manchester United Manager Alex Ferguson has praised Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov for scoring a hattrick against Liverpool on Sunday.

Ferguson, who has oftentimes defended Berbatov against criticism over his uneven performances, said he always believed in the Bulgarian's qualities.

With his stunning play on Sunday, Berbatov became the first United player in more than 60 years to score a hattrick against Liverpool; he also came in first in the top scorers' ranking in the English Premier League this season with his six goals.

"Berbatov's second goal was something we did not expect. This overhead kick was a real surprise not very many players can score a goal like that," Ferguson told the media after the match.

He praised the striker for his very good preparation and training before the start of the regular season.
