This Friday happens to be the 13th, which is considered an especially unlucky configuration by superstitious people.

Friday 13th happens at least once, but not more than three times per year. Today is the only installment for 2010.

13 is considered an especially unlucky number. In some parts of the US and Italy buildings won’t have a 13th floor, and hotels won’t rent out their 13 room.

There are many explanations for this belief, all of them untenable. A Christian-related one says that Jesus together with his Apostles were 13, and the 13th of the group, Judas Iscariot, betrayed him – to be crucified on a Friday.
