Bulgaria's Sofia Has Cheapest Parking Fees in the Balkans - Survey

The Bulgarian capital has the cheapest parking fees in the Balkans, Colliers International has reported.

The survey by the consultant company has been conducted for June 2010 and is among 147 world capitals. It ranks the average prices for parking in the capitals' center areas.

According to the report, Sofia ranks 108th in the world for monthly prices for parking and is ahead of Warsaw and Dublin and right behind the capitals of Romania, Croatia and Montenegro.

The average monthly price for parking in downtown Sofia is about EUR 95, while the daily rate for parking for full working day is about EUR 8.

According to Colliers International, Sofia is the cheapest place for parking in the Balkans. The report, however, does not include Istanbul where there is no monthly fee, but only a daily rate pf about EUR 4,50.

Tirana, Belgrade and Athens are the Balkan cities with the most expensive parking fees – between EUR 148 and EUR 200 per month.

The most expensive capital in the world for parking fees in 2010 is London. Hong Kong ranks second with its parking fee of EUR 605 per month.

Jakarta, Mumbai , Bangalore and Delhi rank last in the report with EUR 22, EUR 19, EUR 16 and EUR 16 respectively.
