Dutch Midfielder Suffer Loose Teeth, Concern for Final

Dutch Demy de Zeeuw ended up with a few loose teeth after he got an accidental kick in the jaw during his team 3-2 World Cup semi-final win over Uruguay on Tuesday.

The midfielder was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw, but an examination showed only loose teeth and he was able to return shortly afterward to join the rest of the celebrating Dutch squad, a team spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman added that De Zeeuw had briefly been knocked out by the blow but there was no lasting damage.

The injury however can throw Demy de Zeeuw out of the World Cup final.
