A Bulgarian man faces 18 years in jail after pleading guilty to charges he spray-painted swastikas and distributed anti-Semitic fliers around his Brooklyn neighborhood.

Ivaylo Ivanov will be sentenced on February 25, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.

The Bulgarian spray-painted the swastikas and spread the fliers in 2007 in at least 23 locations in Brooklyn Heights, including two synagogues, authorities said.

Ivanov also pleaded guilty to possessing a secret cache of weapons discovered at his home in 2008 after he shot himself in the hand. Police found explosives, a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition.

He pleaded guilty to weapons possession and criminal mischief as a hate crime.
