Airline company Bulgaria Air has announced that it is canceling its Wednesday Sofia-Varna and Varna-Sofia flights over the inclement weather in the eastern part of the country.

Thus, on January 20, 2010, flight FB971 from Sofia to Varna and flight FB978 from Varna to Sofia will be canceled because of the heavy snowfall which has hit much of Eastern Bulgaria and the Black Sea coast, especially the Districts of Varna, Burgas, and Dobrich.

39 schools in the District of Burgas were closed Tuesday because of the heavy snowfall which has caused problems with power lines and electricity supply.

The authorities have warned drivers to be extremely careful when traveling on the roads in the eastern part of the country.
