An unnamed Moroccan national has been arrested on suspicion of having raped a 17-year-old Bulgarian girl who suffers learning diabilities.

He is scheduled to appear before prosecutors on Tuesday in the town of Hania, Crete, according to local news agency reports on Saturday.

Forensic experts have confirmed that the teenage girl had been sexually assaulted.

The suspect was arrested after the victim had successfully identified him as her alleged attacker.
