Bulgaria President Gives Thumbs up to Official Visit to Brussels

Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov, gave Thursday high marks to the visit of the official delegation to Brussels, led by Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.

The news was announced in an official press release published by the media office of the Presidential Institution.

The results achieved by the delegation, which in addition to Borisov, includes several ministers from the cabinet, will be discussed on September 14, when the President convenes the Consultative Council for National Security (KSNS).

The President and the PM had agreed to form a joint work group to include experts from the Presidential Administration and the Council of Ministers, who will be assigned the task to prepare a project for the KSNS official statement regarding the compliance with the criteria of the Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification set by the European Commission to assist Bulgaria in the absorption of the EU funds.

Representatives of Parliamentary groups will also be invited to take part.

The KSNS Act postulates that the Council includes as members the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament, the Ministers of Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, the Director of the State National Security Agency (DANS), the Chairs of Parliamentary Groups.
