The Sofia City Court acquitted Tuesday former Agriculture Minister, Georgi Tanev, and businessman Emil Harsev.
The two were charged with large-scale waste over a deal concluded in 1993 for the import of over 153 000 tons of corn from the US for USD 15 M. According to the charge, the Agriculture Ministry sold the corn in 1994 for half of the paid price - USD 7,5 M.
The Court's rule can be appealed in a 15-day deadline before the Sofia Appellate Court.
